What is Ranger CrossFit –

Ranger- CrossFit is a facility like no other in the Rio Grande Valley. We are dedicated to your health unlike your typical fitness center or gym, which only cares about your money. Here at Ranger- CrossFit we are concerned with your health and your fitness level. We pride ourselves with bringing you the first and a one of a kind training facility in all of the Rio Grande Valley. Here we take fitness serious; our coaches are highly trained by actual coaches from CrossFit HQ, who have been training with the CrossFit philosophy for over a decade.
RCF is unlike any other gym, where they care about their membership numbers and not TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE. At your typical gym, if you are not familiar with exercising or the machines, then you must pay an extra $30 to $80 an hour for a personal trainer. A trainer, who just got out of HS and played sports, got a certificate from the internet, after the management gave him the answers, and the young kid has been reading Muscle & Fitness or some body building mag, is trying to tell you how you should get stronger and lose weight, WITH MACHINES. These trainers at the local “GLOBO” gyms will only teach you one thing “a routine”, and you got to keep coming back to the same routine over and over: Monday chest/tris, Tuesday back/bis, and Wednesday legs/shoulders, or some kind of boring routine (sound familiar). A routine that perhaps gets you sore, but teaches you nothing about how to develop your own strength or get self discipline.
Sometime you have the usual bodybuilder, like if we don’t have enough of those in all the gyms, trying to train you like he does. Just because he considers himself a body builder and perhaps he has never even has stepped on stage, he is telling you how to lose weight or get fit. He might, and I say might, look good, so he says, but is he fit and/or healthy?
Fitness and health is being able to conduct daily activities such as getting up in the morning, picking up a bag of dog food from the ground, grocery shopping, putting something on top the shelve, (Police men) chasing a crook, or the young HS athlete trying to get faster and stronger. So what does the GLOBO gym trainer know about fitness and health? Definitely, not what CrossFit considers being fit or being an athlete.
At Globo gyms all trainers specialize in one thing or another, ok sometimes maybe even two, but yet never being 100 percent proficient at any. At CF we specialize at not specializing. What does this mean?
Ranger-CrossFit is a highly competitive facility which is your alternative to the typical gym. Here at RCF we focus on making friends, providing a friendly and healthy atmosphere, and providing the best service that you will not get at any other “Globo” Gym. We not only train you to get fit, but we train for those things in life which are not known. We coach you daily and provide you with the best coaches in all of the Rio Grande Valley.
Whether you are a world class athlete or and individual who just wants to get healthy, Ranger CrossFit will help you get results. UNLIKE YOUR TYPICAL GYM, WE DO NOT GURANTEE RESULTS, YOU MUST EARN THEM. We are not like other gyms, we do not force you to buy anything, we show you how and what you can get if you exercise with us, we don’t have sales people, you deal directly with our coaches always, we make sure you are 100% happy and satisfied.
Besides coaching you in our methods of training and helping you become proficient in all modalities and all exercises, we bring you into our family and teach you our philosophy.
Do I need to be a serious athlete to do CrossFit?
Not necessarily, however you will still have the same benefits that an athlete has when training with CrossFit methods. Such as the prevention of aging, diseases, and serious injuries. With the CrossFit methods you will prevent your body from becoming fragile and make it strong, you might think strength isn’t important but in fact is strength that will keep you from ending in a nursing home when you are at an older age. Athletes have much better bone density, stronger immune systems, less coronary heart disease, reduced cancer risk, fewer strokes, and less depression than individuals who are not athletes. All this benefits you will get even if you are not a serious athlete.
How do I register?
Before you start any CrossFit classes you must first attend our On-Ramp program. You must reserve your spot for the next On-Ramp program. You must attend all classes. At the end of the On-Ramp program you will then chose a package that best suits your needs, budget, and schedule. We are always willing to work with you, our priority is your health and nothing else. How long do I have to use Class Credits?
You only have the month that you have paid for to use the credits or class times, your classes can not be carried over to the next or another month. No refunds are given. You use it or you lose it. No exceptions.
How intense are the classes?
The classes are as intense as you push yourself too, WE DON’T GUARANTEE RESULTS, YOU MUST EARN THEM. In our program we pride ourselves with providing you with the best training and service possible. We will provide the best coaches, the best training, a well kept facility, professional staff, and a great environment, which is fun and SAFE, it will be up to you how much effort you put into your WODs.
What results can I expect?
You can expect to lose inches within weeks, improve your endurance, strength, power, balance, accuracy, stamina, coordination, your energy levels, you will be able to sleep better at night, handle more stress and just feel better overall. Again this is all depending on your effort, your participation, and attendance. If you are a current athlete your performance will definitely improve dramatically.
What is your weather policy?
We train no matter what, rain or shine, cold or hot. CrossFit trains you for real life situations. Weather is one of the things that we face in our daily lives so we must train at all times. But in case of extreme weather we will post on our website what will happened that day, we can still post a WOD that you can do at home comfortable and it will be up to you to do your WOD.
Who are the coaches?
Our coaches are several; they are professionals and are experts in the CrossFit methods of training. They all have been doing and practicing the CrossFit methods for months or years, they are all certified. They also are at different skill levels and are more proficient in one skill than another. So in any given class you will have up to 6 coaches per class, instructing and/or correcting your technique while you are doing your movements. Our coaches love CrossFit and love helping you out even more. They have your interests as their top priority when you step into our “BOX”. (See coaches BIO for more information)
Missed Class/Make-Up Policy:
If you miss a class, you can make it up under these guidelines:
1. You must have a real good reason why you have to miss a class. (Being sleepy, tired, or sore is not a good reason)
2. If you must miss, you must notify us in advance.
3. You will need to get approval from the HEAD COACH to make up your class in any other class and with any other coach.
4. You will need to notify the coach of your make-up program – and ensure there is room in the class
5. Credits will not roll-over into the next month
Contracts/Packages:
In summary, there are no refunds and you can put a freeze on your account only one time during the duration of your contract, and the freeze can last no longer than 90 days.
Refunds:
Refunds will be provided due to permanent disability or permanent relocation. Refunds will not be given under any other circumstances. Credits are possible, but please see the notes on class credits above.
